What is chambray? What is chambray?

Chambray is a closely
woven plain weave fabric that may be made from natural or synthetic fibers, but is most commonly made of cotton. It has a colored
warp and white or unbleached
weft. Chambray is soft, smooth, durable and lightweight with a faded look and slight luster. It is also easy to sew and launders well. Chambray is commonly used for summer clothing, sheets and dress shirts.
