Prefold diapers are made from 3 panels of fabric, usually cotton and/or hemp, with the middle panel having the greatest absorbency--often containing twice as many layers as the two outer panels. They may be fastened with diaper pins or a Snappi, or used without fasteners when combined with a snap or Velcro diaper cover.
