What are parabens?
Parabens are preservatives that are usually derived from petroleum, although some types may be naturally-derived. They may be listed on the label as methylparaben, propylparaben, ethylparaben or butylparaben (or as M&P paraben).
Where is it found?
Parabens are frequently used in personal care products, such as shampoos, lotions, and liquid soaps.
Why should I be concerend?
Parabens can cause skin irritation and are possible endocrine-disrupters that can mimic the hormone estrogen.
