Not long after, Don and Mary began exhibiting at art and craft shows, which allowed them to offer their classic wooden toys to even more children.
Many years later, they made toys for their grandchildren, who even played with the originals. Don and Mary have always used their own children, and grandchildren, as a test market--if the toy held up for their use, then it could be added to their line.
Don skillfully constructs his toys for KidBean.com from mixed hardwoods that are either left completely unfinished or finished with vegetable oil (check each toy's description for details). Each piece is hand sanded, finished, and detailed.
